From Copper to Gold:
Junior Youth Animator Training

"Let them come to realize the full significance of their efforts to help young people form a strong moral identity in their early adolescent years and empower them to contribute to the well-being of their communities."

The Universal House of Justice

Program

From Copper to Gold is a two-week training for youth wishing to advance along their chosen path of service as junior youth animators as they strive to help young people form a strong moral identity in their early adolescent years and empower them to contribute to the well-being of their communities.

Junior youth animators are usually older youth who recently transitioned this stage of life and have a desire to make a meaningful commitment to helping their younger peers. Engaging junior youth in a program that seeks to enhance their capacities and participate actively in the affairs of their communities is a significant and challenging act of service, yet one that is highly rewarding, and in most of the clusters in Ontario, a highly pressing need.

The training will equip animators with the skills, attitudes, concepts and abilities presented in the sequence of courses to form, animate and sustain their own groups. Special focus will be given to the study of the junior youth texts, developing a dialogue for engaging junior youth, parents, and the larger community, as well as the role of service in junior youth groups.
