"Among the young ones in the community are those known as junior youth, who fall between the ages of, say, 12 and 15. They represent a special group with special needs as they are somewhat in between childhood and youth when many changes are occurring within them. Creative attention must be devoted to involving them in programmes of activity that will engage their interests, mold their capacities for teaching and service, and involve them in social interaction with older youth. The employment of the arts in various forms can be of great value in such activity."

Program

Drawing from the Institute's learning with the Fire and Snow Junior Youth Camps, Dawning Points Junior Youth Program is a week-long camp that provides an opportunity for junior youth to join together in fellowship to learn and strengthen their identity as selfless servants to humanity.

The program seeks to engage junior youth in activities that engage their interests and mould their capacities for teaching and service. Junior Youth spend a good portion of their time studying junior youth texts, engaging in dramatic arts and storytelling, developing their capacities to serve children, and analyzing their media and social reality. Nature walks, recreation, and, importantly, service to the community, will all be a part of the program.

This year, junior youth will have the opportunity to study a new text currently in development: Power of the Holy Spirit. The text seeks to help junior youth explore the power of the Holy Spirit and to understand better how the Manifestations of God educate human beings.

A two-week program will also be offered this summer for youth 14 years of age that will provide an opportunity for youth of this age to join together in fellowship and strengthen their identity as selfless servants to humanity. Please note that space is limited and it would be best to apply early to ensure participation.
